What are the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion?
In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we confess our sins to Jesus, who works through the ministry of a priest, and we receive Jesus' healing mercy and forgiveness. In the Sacrament of Holy Communion, Jesus is truly present to us in his Body, Blood , Soul, and Divinity. He allows us to receive him in this Sacrament, and he comes to live in us through it. These two Sacraments can be received multiple times, and they strengthen us in our spiritual journeys.
Who Can Receive these Sacraments?
At St.Anthony's Parish, we welcome all Catholic baptized children, in grade 2 or higher, to enroll in ourFirst Reconciliation & Communion preparation program. In this program, they will learn more about Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him as they prepare to receive these Sacraments.
What is the Parent's Role in a Child's First Reconciliation & First Communion?
Journeying with your child as they prepare to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation or Communion for the first time is not a task to be taken lightly. As their parent, you must be committed to bringing your child to all of the preparation classes and to Sunday Mass, praying with them, and growing with them as they learn more about their Catholic faith. Your co-operation is essential as your child prepares to receive these Sacraments!
